Looking after the environment and looking after yourself.
The Singleton Environment Centre supports volunteer-leaders who run different outdoor programmes. Each contribute to improving the local community and people’s wellbeing. These are year-round activities and take place in the specially designed Centre grounds and the neighbouring Ashford Community Woodland.
The Ashford Green Gym often travels to other work-locations. The Health Walks, starting and finishing at the Centre, add a programme of away-days in the summer.
You can easily join one or more of these activities.

Ashford Green Gym – meets each Monday for wildlife conservation tasks
Ashford Community Woodland – task day first Saturday of the month
Singleton Walk and Talk – three levels of walks lasting 1.5 hours
Fruit path, allotment and raised-beds
You can enjoy Singleton Environment Centre and the neighbouring woodland in your own time. However, your participation with others is most welcome!
How will you get fit today?
Many dog walkers make use of the Ashford Community Woodland. Only assistance dogs may enter the Footprints Cafe. However, the covered outdoor-seating area and waterbowl are appreciated by well-behaved dogs.
